Welcome
To our little patch of paradise
|
We live in the beautiful Huon Valley, under
the gaze of Sleeping Beauty, south of Hobart
in Tasmania, the southern island state of
Australia. I think it is about the size of
Denmark, and has a population of only ˝
million people!
Our farm is situated in the middle of apple,
cherry and grape growing country. It is
usually nice and green here, cold winters,
wet spring, dry summer and autumn is the
most beautiful time – warm and pretty.
I have always had ‘working’ farm cats –
hunters, barn mousers, we still live on the
same farm I grew up on, but now our Maine
Coon cats are spoilt indoor ‘kiddy cats’.

Now about our beloved Maine Coons.
At Dinkidi we breed and have as our pets the beautiful
majestic Maine Coon Cats – an interesting hobby – with a
thoughtful, loving but serious focus.
We are registered members and breeders with the Cat
Association of Tasmania affiliated with the Australian
Cat Federation.
To us they are just the most adorable family members,
they are very people orientated, intelligent,
playful and loyal, they are always interested in what
ever we are doing, and form a meet and greet committee
when we come home, they all expect pats and cuddles and
to be talked to. I suppose they are spoilt really and my
husband would say 'get away with every ...... thing',
but they give all that love back a hundred times over.
A lot of thought has been given to where we want to head
with our breeding goals –
‘to go onwards and upwards with the next generation’
Primary breeding criteria include:

Type and character that I love
2.
Healthy – health screened for HCM and HD
3.
Gentle loving affectionate nature
4.
Diverse breeding lines- with strong outcross influence
